Joyce Goehring, of Ashley, recently retired after more than 50 years as a licensed practical nurse.

Goehring received her license in 1962. She worked in many different hospitals, including Ashley Medical Center and CHI-St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.

Goehring worked in Valley City and Grand Forks as well.

After receiving her education at the North Dakota College of Science, Goehring returned home to Ashley. In 1964, she married her husband, Paul.

During her career, Goehring says she enjoyed working in the Surgical Department and as a general nurse.

Goehring is also trained as a respiratory technician and has worked in the Purchasing Department.
