Commission revamps machine shop plans

It looks like a new county shop will be built, but the McIntosh County Commission intends to do it in stages costing no more than $150,000 each. That was the discussion at the commission's regular monthly meeting on May 9.
By keeping each stage under $150,000, the county can avoid studies and engineering mandates and the associated costs than mean bringing in outside firms.
Commission Chairman Steve Delzer said later, “We’ve got every resource in the county to do this.” He said that whenever possible, the commission wanted to expend tax dollars with merchants in the county.
