A car struck a power pole near Ashley Country Club about 11:30 a.m. Monday, causing an electrical outage in parts of town for about 90 minutes.

The vehicle came to a stop when it hit some trees.

Details are sketchy, as the accident is still under investigation.

At least one vehicle occupant was transported by ambulance to Ashley Medical Center.
