Students arriving for the Wishek Prom later this month will have to pass a breathalyzer test before being allowed to attend the dance.

Police Chief Andy Tunheim told City Council members at their March 6 regular meeting that he and Officer Matt Beehler have agreed to assist with the alcohol testing, in response to a request from school officials.

"The school asked if the Police Department would help out at prom," Tunheim said in his monthly report to the council.

"Matt and I will bring the city's breathalyzer equipment to the high school and we also are volunteering to administer the tests."
