Posted 10/05/16 (Wed)
The Wishek Hospital and Clinic Foundation is about to bring The Big Easy to town.
A New Orleans-style Mardi Gras celebration is the theme for the foundation's annual fall fundraiser, set for Oct. 15 at the Wishek Civic Center.
Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. Entertainment, featuring a dueling piano group from Sioux Falls, S.D., begins at 8 p.m.
Advance tickets are $60 per person and available until Oct. 8. They may be purchased online at http://whcafoundation2016.eventbee.com, at the Wishek, Napoleon, Kulm and Gackle clinics, or directly from foundation board members.
Board members include Tammy Rohweder (321-9943), Kay Rau (452-2431), Harry Hagel (329-0148), Trina Schilling (452-2143), Felicia Sampson (851-0433) and Polly Benson-Eiseman (452-2874).
"We're still finalizing the dinner menu," says Rohweder. "But in keeping with the night's theme, it's expected to include bourbon chicken, dirty rice and cornbread."
Town and Country Bottle Shop will offer complimentary wine selections. A cash bar will be open as well.
Mardi Gras masks and costumes are encouraged. A special photo station will be available for group or individual selfies.
Proceeds benefit a worthwhile cause. Revenue from ticket sales and donations is used to support services provided by Wishek Hospital and its affiliated area clinics.
The event is sponsored, in part, by Danzig Honey Co., Pfeifle Chevrolet-Buick, Titan Machinery and Weber Plumbing.
