Future of volleyball coop stirs passions

Few things stir passions in public schools like athletics. Last week, some patrons of Ashley and Wishek schools, which form the South Border Mustang Cooperative, were confused and alarmed to learn that Wishek Superintendent Shawn Kuntz had floated the prospect of a volleyball co-op with the Napoleon Athletic Director.
It was on the Napoleon School Board agenda on April 9 even as the Wishek School Board was meeting. The Napoleon School Board rejected the overture, Napoleon Superintendent Richard Bjerklie said.
