The Wishek School Board is expected to hold a special meeting soon to decide whether to pursue construction of an agricultural education shop addition at Wishek High School.

A bid opening held April 12 attracted responses from two primary contractors. The board did not act on the bids, choosing instead to take some time to examine and review them.

Inspectors from the state Fire Marshal's office have directed the Wishek school district to address ventilation concerns in the shop area. Issues also have developed in recent years related to the limited student work space in the shop.

A committee appointed by the School Board recommended consideration of a shop addition to alleviate the problems.
