For the first two months of 2018, gas prices have been running higher than the last three years. On average, motorists are paying a quarter more than this time last year and 75 cents more than two years ago.
While pump prices have dipped in recent weeks, this is not a trend consumers should expect to linger. AAA forecasts the national gas price average will be as much as $2.70 a gallon this spring – a price Americans have not paid since summer of 2015 when prices hit $2.81. The average price for gas in North Dakota generally tracks closely with the national average.
In Wishek, Dakota Frontier Cooperative reported an ethanol blend was $2.60 while in Ashley, Northern Plains Cooperative was $2.50. In Fargo at Sam’s Club, the price was $2.30. At Sam’s Club in Bismarck the price was $2.50.
