The McIntosh County Commission is making plans for the proposed construction of a new headquarters for the Road Maintenance Department.

At their Dec. 13 regular meeting, commissioners Neil Meidinger, Steve Delzer and Perry Turner met with Jeff Morrau, president of Artekta Architects in Fargo.

Artekta did architectural legwork for a new road shop building in 2010, when the idea was last discussed.

Morrau reviewed revised blueprints with the commission. He said adjustments had to be made for many reasons, including changes in building codes that have occurred during the last seven or eight years.

There also has been employee turnover at Artekta, but Morrau said the current staff is ready and willing to work with McIntosh County on the proposed project.
