Ashley is once again without a cornerstone business after The Shed Café and Bar closed.

Owner Sandy Schlenker posted a Facebook message that says she will begin selling the contents of her business on Ashley’s Main Street this week.

Schlenker also indicated she plans to demolish the structure if she is not able to sell the building.

Schlenker said when she originally purchased the café and bar several years ago, her plans were to be part of the community for a long time. She said that outlook changed, however, with her new marriage.

Working in the restaurant business is no longer how she wants to spend her days and evenings, she said.
