Children escaped the oppressive heat last week during swimming lessons held each day at the Ashley Swimming Pool.
 
Instructor Amanda Nitschke coached more than 70 youth in the seven levels of swimming instruction this year.
 
Nitschke was assisted by lifeguards Katie Schmidt, Kayla Rohr, Jennifer Melom, Amy Jacobson and Thea Entzie.
