Cole Ketterling, of Wishek, has been named the National FFA Proficiency Award Winner in Diversified Crop Production — Entrepreneurship.
Ketterling was one of only four finalists from across the United States chosen to compete last week during the 90th-annual National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Finalists were recognized and Ketterling was announced as the winner Friday during an on-stage ceremony at the convention.
Proficiency awards honor outstanding student achievement in agribusiness gained through establishment of a new business, working for an existing company, or otherwise gaining hands-on career experience.
Ketterling’s application detailed the growth in his Supervised Agricultural Experience program. He farms about 300 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and sunflowers.
Ketterling's local FFA chapter advisor in Wishek is Kristi Tonnessen.
