With the start of classes about a month away, Wishek Public School is dealing with faculty transition.

Kindergarten instructor Sara Thielges and English instructor Renee Fornelli have submitted resignations.

Superintendent Shawn Kuntz said Thielges and Fornelli indicated they have accepted positions in LaMoure and Napoleon, respectively.

Kuntz said the resignations will be addressed during the Aug. 14 regular meeting of the Wishek School Board.

"There is a buyout (in the master contract for teachers), so the board can't deny resignations anymore," Kuntz said.

The English vacancy is being advertised on job websites targeted at teachers, Kuntz said.

Meanwhile, Robin Grossman, who had been the school reading specialist and pre-school instructor has agreed to take the kindergarten position.
