Auditor Mary Wald presented a preliminary budget to the Wishek City Council last week calling for $393,800 in General Fund spending during the 2018 calendar year.
Wald said the figure is about $4,000 more than the forecast for the current year.
"We have budgeted for a new police vehicle," Wald said. "That's the major reason for the difference."
The budget will be finalized at City Council's Oct. 2 regular meeting.
Members of the public may view the preliminary budget during regular business hours in the auditor's office at City Hall, 23 S. Centennial St.
