Festive Friday

Kelly Brown, Wishek Association of Commerce president, spoke to the Jolly Old Elf earlier this week and plans are being finalized for Santa's annual visit to Wishek.

Santa has slated his appearance from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Wishek Civic Center.

"Kids will be the primary focus of the Santa Day festivities again this year," says Brown.

In addition to pictures with Santa Claus, the association is sponsoring inflatable games, coloring, and face painting. There will be gifts for all children, age 12 and under.

Brown emphasizes that everything is being presented by the association at no charge.

"We want to give the children a fun-filled evening and make sure they all get a gift to take home. That's always (the association's) goal for Santa Day."

Members from the Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Wishek High School are holding a fundraising supper at the Civic Center. The menu includes macaroni-and-cheese, hot dogs, and barbecues.

Association of Commerce board members include Brown, Stephanie Kaatz, Jon Leadbetter, Dani Goebel, Mary DePuydt, Mike vanGorkom, Chelsey Horner, Jamie Vetter, Carly Schilling and Patti Burian.

"Santa Day is a tradition, with something to interest the entire family. Come out and see all that Wishek has to offer," Brown says.
