It will cost more for wedding parties and those hosting other events that serve alcohol to rent the Wishek Civic Center.
 
City Council members approved a motion at their Oct. 3 regular meeting to require $200 from the renter and $125 from owner of the bar that is doing the serving to cover policing costs at such events.
 
The rates have previously been $100 each from the renter and the bar owner.
 
State law requires policing at public and private events where alcohol is served.
 
City Auditor Mary Wald said the higher fees won't go into effect until Jan. 1.
