The stage is set for the return of Debra Turner to the Wishek school faculty.

Superintendent Shawn Kuntz said Monday that Turner has been offered a contract to fill the English instructor vacancy created by the recent resignation of Renee Fornelli.

"The offer was made on Friday to Mrs. Turner and I expect she will sign a contract today," Kuntz told The Wishek Star on Monday morning, just before this story went to press.

Fornelli resigned last month to take a similar position in Napoleon, where her husband also teaches.

Turner was a teacher in the Wishek system for several years before retiring after the 2013-14 term. She was the lone applicant for the vacancy, Kuntz said.
