Wishek School: Tax increase, deficits likely
Posted 4/18/18 (Wed)
As the school year draws to a close, the Wishek School Board is budgeting for next year. They met for their monthly meeting on April 9 in the ITV room at Wishek Public School. As always, it's a balancing act between the education they'd like to provide and the one they can afford.
"Why are we cutting classes?" asked board member Melissa Kaseman-Wolf, after looking at a mock curriculum schedule that doesn't include a second English teacher. She is also an advocate for a business teacher. "Our first job is to educate these kids," she said.
The consensus of the board was to search for an English teacher and a business teacher or some combination of both.
