That's the plan

The McIntosh County Commission is continuing to plan construction of a new Road Maintenance Department shop.
At their Feb. 14 regular meeting, commissioners Steve Delzer, Perry Turner and Neil Meidinger reviewed design plans with Jeff Morrau, of Fargo-based Artekta Architects, and county road maintenance supervisor Dennis Glas.
The current road shop complex, north of Ashley, has become outdated. Modern equipment tends to be larger and the shop can no longer accommodate it.
A primary objective also is to get county employees and equipment out of the elements as much as possible, especially during harsh North Dakota winters.
Plans are to construct the new building to the northeast of the existing shop, which would remain standing and be used for storage.
At last week's meeting, it was agreed to shift the building a bit further east, primarily to allow better access to a door planned for the south side.
