The McIntosh County Commission has declared a fire emergency and burn ban until further notice.

The ban was declared April 27. No crop residue burning, fireworks, campfires or garbage burning is allowed. A violation is a Class B misdemeanor with a possible sentence of up to 30 days in jail and a $1500 fine.
