Even in the middle of winter, Wishek native Kaylee Ketterling is focused on summer fun.

Ketterling, daughter of Byron and Denise Ketterling, works as entertainment and community engagement coordinator for the Bismarck Larks baseball team.

The Larks debuted in 2017 as a first-year member of the Northwoods League, which includes the country's premier summer collegiate baseball clubs.

As the expansion team was being organized, Ketterling was completing a bachelor's degree in public relations at the University of Mary.

"I had to find an internship," says Ketterling. "I was given an opportunity to do a job shadow with the Larks, which led to the internship that I needed."

Team officials were impressed when the internship ended and offered Ketterling a full-time position in the front office.

"I am doing a lot of things that are in line with my PR degree," Ketterling says.

"There's some design work, writing press releases, involvement with marketing campaigns, and just generally being a liaison between the Larks and the community."
